Rollcall Report that lines up child and teacher schedules

Customer uses DT in an atypical fashion, utilizing School location to represent their district, Primary Classroom assigned to a child to represent School, and Scheduled Classroom to represent the Program/Classroom the child is scheduled for. Likewise, the Teacher's Primary Work Area represents School, and Scheduled Work Area represents the Program/Classroom the Teacher is assigned.

  • Most relevant existing report is Standard Reports > Family Data > Rollcall Sheets > Monthly Roll Call w/Schedule and Teachers

  • Modules are FD and ED, scope is School level report

  • Formatting as illustrated in the mockup provided, which is very similar to the existing report referenced.

  1. The report will pull child data from the School (e.g. Little Red Schoolhouse) on the same way that the existing report does.

  2. It will group those children by their Primary Classroom (e.g. Hillside Elementary)

    1. Within each group, it will display children full name and their Scheduled Classroom (e.g. AM KE)

      1. Children will be sorted alphabetically, by last name.

      2. There will be a Daily Count that sums the total children for each day under each day column

  3. Under the child data will display any teachers whose assigned Primary Work Area equals the Primary Classroom of step 2.

    1. The teacher's Scheduled Work Area will then display and line up with the child schedule data above it.

      1. Teachers, if more than 1 are displayed, will be sorted alphabetically by last name.

      2. There will be a Daily Count that sums the total staff assigned to that program under each day column

  4. The schedule portion of the report for both child and teacher will display a blank if the person is scheduled to be present, or an 'x' if they are scheduled to be absent. This is the same behavior that the existing report exhibits.

  5. The child Primary Classroom groups (of step 2) will display in the order in which they are listed inside of the system configuration menu, under System Configuration > Data Management > Scheduling > Classrooms (screenshot)

    1. If no child records are associated with a particular Classroom, that Classroom will not display as a group.

"Ultimately, we want this report to help us know how many teachers we have and/or need to hire to meet required ratios for the students we have enrolled or would like to enroll. "

Customer is unable to obtain this information using existing report/DV options. This was attempted previously (DESK-I-49) but customer stated that the delivered report did not meet their needs.
