Dropdown menu for children on the ledger

Customer is asking for a dropdown menu within the ledger screen that contains the children who are associated with the account. They wish to do this in order to link a child to a transaction without using a text description in the comment field.

Child names within the dropdown need to list their names as First, Last

They do not want any existing reports modified to include this new dropdown information. They do want a custom report built that will show this information (separate Aha submission - DESK-I-271).

The customer does want to see the child selection as its own column within the Account Deposit Balances window.

Within Account Deposit Balances window, they also want to see each individual transaction listed in the case of multiple children each having the same deposit transaction

• Current functionality has all transaction added together under a single line item for a particular deposit description

• They want to see each charge and credit listed in this window rather than an overview of that the Special Charge and Special Credit and balances are for a particular description

In the mockups provided, the red outlines offered are examples, not specifically where they want the column to be in relation to the others.

They would like the default selection to be blank, indicating no child is linked or associated with a transaction.

This is intended as a visual representation for the user who is looking at the ledger, and for anyone running the custom report mentioned above. They understand that the accounting in Desktop does not link charges to payments explicitly. Customer is Canadian and does not use TE, so this is not a concern for them.

• They would like to make the child dropdown a required field so that users will not be able to leave the ledger window unless line items are assigned via the child dropdown menu.

• Customer also stated that when processing billing through the Automated Contract Billing screen, they would like the child to be assigned via the dropdown instead of as a comment.
