After the release of 2025.18, special characters are not allowed in name fields.
It would be beneficial for the platform to support a broader range of special characters within name fields. Certain characters—such as the asterisk (*)—are commonly used across multiple databases and are frequently encountered in customer data. Support teams also rely on these characters during troubleshooting, as they often appear in imported or legacy records.
Expanding the allowable character set for name fields would improve data integrity, reduce friction during data entry or migration, and align the application more closely with real-world data patterns.
