Add checkbox on primary & secondary payer's phone number screen to enable text messaging for the cell number entered

Currently, to enable a payer's cell number to be configured to send text messages to, you must remember to:

  • Click the Text Message icon on the lower left corner of the Person Information Screen

  • Once there, the person's cell number is displayed in the Text Messaging Address box in the Ten Digit Number field

  • Now you must click the Save icon

  • Now click the Exit icon to enable this person to receive text messages.

The problem with this method is that while creating this person this step is easy to overlooked.


Instead, it would make much more sense to allow this function to be enabled while entering the cell number this way:

  • When working with the Person Information screen, click on the New phone number icon to open the Person Telephone screen

  • If the user selects "Cell" in the Telephone Type field, a check box would appear for "Enable Text Message for the Number"

That would be it! Since the user entering this person is already in the Person Telephone screen to enter phone numbers, it would be nearly impossible to overlook enabling text messages.
