Dear Procare,
I hope this message finds you well.
We are reaching out to follow up on accessibility testing conducted on your product, Procare, which has historically been used by Clark College. As a higher education institution in Washington State, we are required to provide our employees and students with accessible software.
Unfortunately, the testing revealed several areas where the product did not meet the required accessibility standards. Please find attached a detailed letter outlining the context and implications of the accessibility audit. Additionally, the specific elements that failed testing are summarized in the attached accessibility report.
For your reference, here is a brief summary of the key areas that did not meet the standards:
Absence of meaningful screen reader output during critical user flows, such as registration steps, PIN entry, and confirmation dialogs (302.1 – Without Vision).
All button labels begin with ampersands, creating unnecessary noise for screen reader users
Error messages like “invalid password” are not announced by assistive technology,
Inconsistent keyboard behavior
Users with cognitive limitations are also impacted, as temporary messages disappear quickly and cannot be paused or extended (302.9)
We kindly ask you to refer to the attached accessibility report for comprehensive details on these issues. We are seeking prompt remediation of these elements to ensure your product complies with the necessary accessibility guidelines. If no remediation activity is committed to, then Clark College will be forced to retire your product from use.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your prompt response.
