Exporting reports to excel - could use improvement

When the reports export to excel they export formatted to print, not to manipulate the data. If I export to excel I want to manipulate, otherwise I would just print.
Could you update the export function to more streamline the export so I don't have to do so much manipulation to the data to be able to use it?
