Change default screen for Activities to filter on Weekly

For many months the Daily Activities screen has issues with displaying activities for Approval. We suggest clearing the cache, but this doesn't always work and is a lot of extra work for users. However, the Weekly filter seems to work much faster without the need to clear the cache. Can we set the default filter on the Daily Activities screen to Weekly when coming from the Approve Activities link on the Dashboard?
