Request to add configurable options for managing the delivery of payment failure emails.

Details:
We would like the ability to control whether payment failure emails are sent and to whom they are delivered. Ideally, this would be implemented as a toggle or settings option allowing users to:

  • Enable or disable the sending of payment failure emails entirely.

  • Choose the recipient group(s) for these notifications, such as:

    • Administrators only

    • Administrators and staff with billing access

    • Parents

    • Or a customizable combination of the above

Background / Business Need:
This request has become increasingly important following a recent change that exposed failures caused by communication issues between two internal systems. These internal sync errors have triggered multiple payment failure emails to be sent in some cases, leading to:

  • Parents contacting centers concerned about payments that were never actually declined.

  • Centers assessing NSF fees on payments that were not true failures, since the transactions were never sent to the bank.

Providing control over these notifications would help prevent unnecessary confusion and incorrect financial actions, while still allowing centers to maintain appropriate visibility into legitimate payment failures.
Benefit:
This enhancement would improve accuracy in financial communications, reduce support burden from false failure reports, and give centers flexibility to manage how and when payment failure information is shared.
