Asking them to re-enter that opens it for them entering a different name and/or email which causes a lot of issues that take a lot of time to correct and is a bad experience for the client/parents.
The directions could be more clear, specifically please include DO NOT SHARE YOUR INVITE CODE WITH ANYONE. Something to tell them that is unique to them.
