To help reduce the growing support load of assisting with parent sign up issues, please see my following suggestions listed in order of most to least impactful:
Only allow sign up when the user email matches the email address that the code was sent to. This prevents the sharing of codes, typos and additional security concerns.
Address PSD-9843
Prevent Staff members from editing parent emails once signed up. This does not update the user and causes confusion. extremely limited use cases where this functionality is beneficial since the schools are blind to the user v. carer setup. Staff is already configured like this.
Improve language of invitation emails. IDEAS-I-110. Ideally this will also include an improved version of the email that is sent when a user already exists.
Increase the size of the login IDEAS-I-200
Blondo Childcare showed me that Brightwheel has a feature where the center can see each parent's invitation code via the dashboard. They said this would be helpful so they can verify the correct invitation code with the parent in case a parent misses it in the invitation email.
Minnieland is requesting as well.
Spent at least half an hour today trying to fix parent log ins because they used a different email when they signed up and shared their code.
Please work to simplify this process to prevent this.
Yes we need to prevent parents from typing in a different email then their invite was sent to when they are onboarding. If they use two different emails or even just make a typo the email's get tangled in the DB and they have to call/chat to fix.
Include language about needing to log out and back in when parents have multiple children at the school.
